Changdeokgung (a.k.a my dream world) / by Sophie Laruelle

On Halloween, I decided to take advantage of the crisp weather and evolving foliage and check out Seoul's premier palace, Changdeokgung (I can't pronounce it either). It wasn't very spooky, but I had gotten my Halloween fill the week prior after visiting a haunted house with my coworkers at Seoul's "Everland" amusement park.

The palace was exceptional- especially the Huwon Secret Garden, located just behind the main structures. The palace was swarming with tourists and locals alike, many of whom were dressed in traditional Hanbok attire- making for a comprehensive and picturesque experience. I spent the day wandering around the palace and garden, imagining life during the days of the Joseon Dynasty and contemplating the millions of moments and memories that have been created in the very spot I was standing.
