Sophie Zmorrod is a Lebanese-American actor, singer, and writer who has made a career developing original and devised work that is highly theatrical, musical and multi-disciplinary. She most recently toured the country in the First Broadway National Tour of The Kite Runner. Before that, she originated the role of Béa in The Acting Company’s world premiere production of Odyssey, adapted and directed by Lisa Peterson. She has also worked as an actor at Trinity Repertory Company, Target Margin Theater, The Public, The Brick, The Ancram Center for the Arts, The Hangar Theater, and The Cherry Lane Theater. Trained as an opera singer, Sophie views theater as an expansive and flexible form for storytelling and has contributed to the field as a writer, director, producer, vocalist, and actor. She worked in Seoul, South Korea for a year as a composer, music director and actor with English Musicals Korea. She earned her BA cum laude in Music from Columbia University, and her MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Repertory Company, where she was a Stephen Sondheim Fellow for two years and awarded the David Wickham Prize in Playwriting upon graduation.
